I am consistently impressed with so many aspects of the Chrismont Montessori Academy! The children are engaged in active, stimulating work, aided by their teachers but well-directed. Never appears distracted or bored. The classroom is clean, well-organized, interesting and attractive. Students have the opportunity to do stimulating, relevant work as well as express creativity with art and music, sometimes alone and other times in small and large groups. My son has become calmer, more focused and happier since he has been here! Thanks. -B.S.
As you know C-- is our 2nd child here at Chrismont. We are excited to watch his progress educationally and socially. We plan for him to stay here next year for kindergarten (like his older sister) where he will advance at his own pace vs. being stuck in an imposed curriculum. A Montessori education is priceless. -W.F.
I can't believe how well behaved the children are! I wish I had found this school when my older children were of the same age. The children seem very content to play on individual levels. Thank you for your dedication. -J.D.
V-- has eased into "Big" work, loving spelling and sounding out many words. Kindergarten is wonderful at Montessori. As always all the children are busy and interested in their own work or activity. I remember the first year here thinking that there were only 10 or 12 children in the class because it was never a loud or unorganized group. You can put 30 Montessori children in a classroom and it would feel like 10. They're great! and so are the teachers! -V.R.
When you view the class "in action' you notice how many various activities are available to the children in this classroom. It's wonderful that they have so many choices - and there are so few arguments! They all seem busy, happy and independent. And the teachers are there when the children want them. Its was fun to watch! -J.G.
I was struck by the low noise level, and the children's attention to their individual work. They seem to take their work seriously, while having a lot of fun, too. Teachers are helpful and encouraging. Children seem to know exactly where everything is kept. And they seem to know the ground rules well - and if they forget, the teachers gently remind them, and they willingly comply. Overall, it is a learning environment with a great amount of respect. -D.G.
I feel so lucky to have found a real Montessori school again. I see my J-- blossoming so beautifully in a nice environment with love and respect. It is great to watch the little ones behaving with independence and enjoying while learning. Thank you for the opportunity. -J.R.
It's so amazing to me how the children sit immediately and start their work! It's like they couldn't wait to get here. They all work so diligently. There is such a wide variety of work. Lots of different things to open up those little minds. -J.E.
I love to see the children interact. They speak to each other and respect each other so easily. All the kids get to work and set themselves up and clean up. The independence is wonderful. It's great to have the opportunity to sit and watch and appreciate the whole process. You touch base with so many children in such a short time. Thank you. -D.H.
It will never cease to amaze me when I observe in this classroom. There is fairy dust in here! The cooperative "work" (play), the respect, the sense of accomplishment and self esteem is apparent. The children are so competent and happy. -D.O.
